Not sure what dance to watch this July? With over 30 dance shows touring the UK this month, let me help you to decide with my top three picks. Expect classical icons, world-class dancers and free performances.
1. Timeless
29 July-2 August / Royal Opera House, London
World renown dancing
Marianela Nuñez has been dancing with The Royal Ballet for 28 years. This summer she is taking to the stage to perform some of her favourite works alongside her colleagues. Encasing a series of short works will be Jerome Robbins' In the Night and Frederick Ashton’s' gorgeous Marguerite and Armand.

2. Swan Lake
17-26 July / London Coliseum
A classic returns anew
After their sell-out run in 2024, The State Ballet of Georgia are returning to London with their new production of classic ballet Swan Lake. I enjoyed their production last time specifically for the insane backbends in the Spanish dance, so here’s hoping they didn’t get cut in this new version.
3. Doorstep Duets
14 July-8 August / Tour
Free dance near you
Now in its sixth iteration, New Adventures free annual summer dance tour aims to bring world-class dance to you. Check out the tour dates on their website to see if your town is one of the 11 they are visiting.
